Moden ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to being transparent about how information is handled when you use our website, our Webflow App, and our tools and services.
1. Overview
We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising purposes. Moden relies on trusted third-party services to provide authentication, payments, and infrastructure. This policy explains what data may be processed and why.
Moden is offered in two forms: our website and web-based tools, and the Moden Webflow App, a Designer Extension that runs inside the Webflow Designer. Section 2 covers the Webflow App specifically; the remaining sections apply to both.
2. The Moden Webflow App (Designer Extension)
The Moden Webflow App runs entirely inside your browser, within the Webflow Designer. It uses Webflow's official Designer API to read and modify the project you already have open.
Your design data is not sent to Moden. The App may access, within your browser:
- The element you have selected, and its styles, classes, and custom code embeds
- Project styles, variables, components, and page metadata
- Image assets belonging to your Webflow site
This information is used only to render the tool you are using and to write your changes back to your Webflow project. It is not transmitted to Moden's servers, stored by us, or shared with third parties.
Image Optimizer.
All image processing, compression, format conversion, cropping, and resizing, happens locally in your browser using in-browser (WebAssembly) codecs. Your images are never uploaded to Moden. Images are read from, and optimized results are written back to, your own Webflow project.
Style Editor.
All style reading and editing happens locally between your browser and the Webflow Designer. No style, class, CSS, or element data is sent externally.
Lumos Audit. Audit reports are generated locally in your browser from your project's styles, assets, and page metadata. Report contents are not transmitted to Moden.
What does leave your browser. The only data the App sends externally is what is required to sign you in and confirm your subscription status — see Sections 3 and 4. The App also stores preferences locally on your device (see Section 6).
Because the App operates on your Webflow project, Webflow's own handling of your data is governed by their policy: https://webflow.com/legal/privacy
3. Account Authentication
User authentication and account management are handled through Supabase, a third-party authentication and database provider.
Supabase may process:
- Email address
- Encrypted authentication credentials
- Account identifiers required to manage login sessions
- Moden does not store passwords in plain text and does not have access to your raw authentication credentials.
4. Payments and Billing
Paddle may collect and process:
All payments are processed securely by Paddle, our payment processor and merchant of record.
You can review Supabase's Privacy Policy here:

- Billing details
- Payment method information
- Tax and transaction data required for compliance
- Moden does not store or have direct access to your credit card information.

5. Infrastructure & Server Processing
Moden uses Cloudflare to run serverless workers that power the website, handle authentication and subscription checks, and support various tools.
As part of normal operation, Cloudflare may temporarily process:
- IP addresses
- Request metadata
- URLs or domain names submitted by users when using web-based tools that fetch or analyze website content
For example, when you enter a website URL into a Moden web tool, that URL may be processed to retrieve HTML content so it can be displayed or edited. This data is used only to provide the requested functionality and is not sold or used for advertising.
This URL-fetching behavior applies to our web-based tools. The Moden Webflow App does not send your project or design content to these workers; it contacts them only for authentication and subscription verification.
You can review Cloudflare's Privacy Policy here:

6. Cookies & Local Storage
Moden uses cookies and local storage to:
- Maintain login sessions
- Store tool preferences and settings — for example, the order of your tools and which tool you last had open
- Enable core site and App functionality
These technologies are essential for the site and tools to function correctly. Preferences stored by the Webflow App remain on your device and are not transmitted to Moden. Moden does not use cookies for advertising, behavioral tracking, or third-party analytics.
7. Data Retention
We retain only the minimum data necessary to operate the service. Authentication, billing, and infrastructure data are retained according to the policies of Supabase, Paddle, and Cloudflare. Design and image data processed by the Moden Webflow App is not retained by us, because it never leaves your browser.
8. Data Security
We rely on industry-standard security practices and trusted providers to protect user data. While no system can be guaranteed 100% secure, all third-party services used by Moden follow modern security and compliance standards.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. Updates will be posted on this page.
